Huskies Take First, Second At Head Of The Charles
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - UW men's crew took third place overall and first place in the collegiate division in the Men's Championship Fours and fifth overall and second in the collegiate division in the Men's Championship Eights Sunday at the 50th running of the Head of the Charles in Cambridge, Mass.
The defending IRA National Champs placed fifth in the Championship Eights in a very competitive field with a time of 14:37.66 behind national rowing programs Craftsbury, Tauras and US Rowing as well as Harvard, who took third. Harvard was the first-place collegiate team as UW took second among college teams.

The Huskies finished in third overall in the Championship Four in 16.19.51, behind first-place Camp Randall (16:13.15) and Cambridge (16:19.44). In third overall, the Huskies were the first-place collegiate squad in the Championship Four.

Full Men's Championship Four Results
One of the world’s preeminent rowing competitions, the 2014 Head Of The Charles Regatta featured a variety of races for U.S. and international rowers of all ages and abilities. The Regatta was expected to attract 11,000 competitors and more than 400,000 spectators.
As has become tradition for the Regatta, the HOCR featured a world-class field of competitors, drawing elite athletes from around the world and the United States. Athletes from Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand will compete, alongside U.S. competitors from across the country.
In last year’s Head of the Charles, the Huskies took fourth in the Championship Four and ninth in the Championship Eight. UW also took second in the Open Four Collegiate and fifth in the Championship Eight Collegiate.
UW will next compete at the Head of Lake in Seattle on Sunday, Nov. 2.
