Harrison Takes Pair of First Place Finishes at Cal
BERKELEY, Calif. – Junior Sammy Harrison had first place finishes in the 500 and 1000 Yard Freestyle events as the Oregon State swimming team competed against California. The Beavers were felled by the Golden Bears Thursday afternoon 157-97.
Harrison finished the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 9:50.25 and had a time of 4:51.25 in the 500 Yard Freestyle.
Czsarina Isleta continued her strong season, finishing second in the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:22.88. Freshman Allie Kilroy had a strong day earning a second place finish in the 200 Yard Breatstroke with a time of 2:23.51 and finished third in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 105.35. Freshman Corine Shigeta joined Isleta and Kilroy in the top-4 of the 200 Yard Breaststroke, finishing in 2:24.40.
Sophomore Sophie MacEwan finished in fourth place for the 50 Yard Freestyle after a season best 24.62. Andrea Young finished right behind MacEwan with a time of 24.96. Young also finished fifth in the 100 Butterfly, stopping the clock at 58.42.
Amani Amr had a fourth place finish in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:06.63, while freshman Tair Maimon finished in fifth place with a time of 2:09.67. Constance Toulemonde had a fifth place finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 53.72.
The Beavers will return to action at Stanford, Calif. tomorrow, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m. when they face the Cardinal.
