Busy Weekend for Card Lacrosse

STANFORD, Calif. – The Stanford women’s lacrosse home fall season reaches its peak this weekend when the Cardinal plays host to its alumnae on Friday and then a seven-team single day tournament on Sunday.

Stanford is coming off a productive weekend in Maryland, playing Saturday at Navy, and then three high-powered programs in Baltimore, including defending national champ Maryland, in shortened games.

The Cardinal welcomes back its former players for Homecoming Weekend, with a game against the alumnae at 7 p.m. Friday on the turf field next to Steuber Rugby Stadium.

On Sunday, seven of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation’s 10 teams will take part in an all-day event that begins at 9 a.m. and continues until 4 p.m. on both the turf field and the adjacent grass basin intramural field.

Each team will play four games and 13 games will be played altogether. Participating teams will be Stanford, California, Fresno State, Oregon, Saint Mary’s, San Diego State, and UC Davis. Admission is free.
