CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men’s basketball team will host an Open House and Select-A-Seat at Gill Coliseum beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. Admission is free and fans are encouraged to stop by, see the 2014-15 squad for the first time and consider making a commitment to new Head Coach Wayne Tinkle.

The event will include an open practice and dunk and three-point contests by the Oregon State men’s basketball team. If you have never sat courtside in Gill, this is your chance to experience the action from the front row. Or maybe you have wondered what the view is like from behind the Oregon State bench? Fans are invited to move around Gill Coliseum and take in the happenings from various locations. Be on the lookout for seats tagged as available for commits. Coach Tinkle is not just recruiting players, he is recruiting you, the fans, and this is your unofficial visit.

The Select-A-Seat promotion will have approximately 200 seats tagged with signs letting you know that they are available for the season. Look for the catchy slogans with Coach Wayne Tinkle’s face tagging the seat and try it out for a while. If you decide to #Commit2Wayne, you will simply take the papers tagging the seat location you want to purchase and return them to the ticket office.

The #Commit2Wayne ticket plan provides fans with season tickets for $199 (tickets were $364 last season).* The price will gradually step up the following seasons ($249, $299, $349) but remain affordable, and there is no obligation to commit to all four years. Season tickets will be $349 next year and beyond for fans who do not take advantage of this unique opportunity this year.

Ticket Office personnel will be on hand to answer any questions and process orders. Click on this link to read the letter that Tinkle sent to Beaver Nation asking for their commitment.

More than 500 people have already taken made the commitment by securing new season tickets for the upcoming season, which begins on Friday, Nov. 14 against Rice at 7 p.m. at Gill Coliseum.

Every ticket this season will feature an image of Paul Valenti, an Oregon State athlete, coach, administrator and goodwill ambassador for more than 70 years, who passed away this past September. The team will wear a PV patch on their jerseys in honor of the Oregon State legend.

Just like our recruits on unofficial visits, you can conclude your visit by heading over to Reser Stadium for the Homecoming Football game vs. California. Kickoff against the Bears is at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are still available at beavertickets.com

* Some sections of Gill Coliseum require an annual gift to Our Beaver Nation. As always, we appreciate the generous support given through Our Beaver Nation to help fund opportunities for student-athletes. We off donors who have already made a donation to secure their football season tickets acess to men’s basketball donor seating with no additional donation. We call this goal-line to base-line giving. Example: if you donate $1,200 for seating requirement for football, that same donation is good for $1,200 sections for men’s basketball.
