Sam Mewis Added to MAC Hermann Trophy Fan Vote

UCLA senior midfielder Sam Mewis has been putting together a MAC Hermann Trophy-worthy season, scoring 35 points on 13 goals and nine assists. It was only fitting that she was added to the MAC Hermann Fan Vote for a chance to make it to the semifinalist list.

Mewis was not one of the four Bruins selected for the Watch List during the preseason, but her numbers in 2014 cannot be denied. She leads the Pac-12 in goals, game-winning goals (6) and points and ranks second in assists. She has contributed to nearly half of UCLA's 45 goals this season and has a goal or assist in her last seven consecutive games and in 14 of 17 games.

Her honors this season include being named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week last week and earning Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week inclusions three times.

Mewis is making a big move into UCLA's career charts this season, now cemented in the Top 10 in career points (8th with 84), assists (fifth with 28) and game-winning goals (10th with 10).

Voting will be open for a week. The top vote-getter will be named the Fans Choice and will appear on the semifinalist ballot for the MAC Hermann Trophy in late November.
