Cats Sweep Doubleheader with Pima

TUCSON Arizona softball swept a doubleheader with Pima on Tuesday, winning game one 10-1 and game two 13-1 in five innings.

Mo Mercado, Kellie Fox and Katiyana Mauga each homered on the day; the trio led Arizona in RBI with four, four and three, respectively.

The Cats had their short game working as Eva Watson went 4-for-5 in the two games and Chelsea Suitos had a team-high five hits in seven at-bats. Both players drove in two runs for Arizona.

In the circle, Nancy Bowling started both games, totaling four innings and not allowing a run. The junior stuck out four while allowing just one hit and walking two. Siera Phillips and Trish Parks tossed four innings each and allowed one run apiece.

Arizona concludes the fall schedule on Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m. against Scottsdale Community College.
