CORVALLIS, Ore. – Junior Sammy Harrison continued her outstanding campaign Friday afternoon, as she posted a pair of first place finished in the Oregon State swim team’s meet against Boise State. Harrison opened her meet by taking first in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:09.77, before taking the top spot in the 500 freestyle at 4:50.61. The Henderson, Nev. native also placed second in the 200 freestyle, stopping the clock in 1:51.30.
Junior Amani Amr recorded a first-place finish in the 200 backstroke (2:03.66) and took second in the 100 backstroke (57.33). Sophomore Czsarina Isleta added to her impressive early season results by winning the 200 breaststroke (2:19.57). She also placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.58).
As a team, the Beavers fell to the Broncos 178-84.
Sophomore Brooke Meyer placed second in the 200 butterfly (2:07.51), while freshman Allie Kilroy took third in the 100 breaststroke (1:05.45). Redshirt-sophomore Claire McLaggan finished third in the 50 freestyle, stopping the clock in 24.30.
Junior Constance Toulemonde finished fourth in the 100 freestyle (53.07), while sophomore Sophie MacEwan took fourth in the 50 freestyle (24.32) and sophomore Andrea Young placed fourth in the 100 butterfly (57.96). Freshman Abby Maricle took fourth in the 200 butterfly (2:08.40) and classmate Corrine Shigeta placed fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:24.70).
The Oregon State squad of Amr, Kilroy, Young and McLaggan finished second in the 200 medley relay (1:46.28) and the Beaver team of Harrison, Toulemonde, MacEwan and freshman Noemie Midrez placed third in the 400 freestyle relay (3:32.74).
The Beavers will host their alumni meet tomorrow morning at the Dixon Recreation Center.
