Ray Into Semifinals at Jack Kramer Invitational
LOS ANGELES - UCLA senior women's tennis player Kaitlin Ray posted a three-set victory on Friday to advance to the semifinals of singles the Jack Kramer Invitational, being held this week at the Jack Kramer Tennis Club in Rolling Hills Estates, Calif.
Ray, who is seeded fifth, downed NC State's Joanna Nalborska, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5 in the quarterfinals. Next up is a showdown with LSU's Joana Costa on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
In doubles, fouth-seeded Terri Fleming and Kyle McPhillips will take on LSU's Skylar Kuykendall and Abby Owens in the round of 16 on Saturday morning. If they win, they will meet Texas A&M's Saska Gavrilovska and Eva Paalma in the quarterfinals on Saturday at Noon.

John Newcombe Women's Pro Challenge
Also competing this week is Bruin sophomore Jennifer Brady, who has advanced to the semifinals of singles at the John Newcombe Women's Pro Challenge, a professional event on the ITF Circuit. Brady is scheduled to take on Mayo Hibi of Japan on Saturday. UCLA's Robin Anderson was also competing in Texas this week, falling in the first round to sixth-seeded Irini Falconi in three sets.
