Rahm, Lee Lead Day Two Action For @ASUMensGolf

Princeville, Hawai’i – The Arizona State men’s golf team finished in second place after round two at the Warrior Princeville Makai Invitational. Junior Jon Rahm and sophomore Ki Taek Lee golfed impressive second rounds to help ASU climb to second place at the par-72, 7,223-yard Makai Golf Club.

The Sun Devils are 27-under 549 (277-272) through two rounds of golf and lead the pack at 1-under on par-3 holes. ASU is just four strokes back from Georgia Tech, which remains in first after a 15-under 273 on the day and a 31-under 545 through two rounds.

Four of five Sun Devils finished under par on Tuesday, with Lee and Rahm leading the team. Lee finished the day with an impressive 6-under 66. Rahm had seven birdies on the day and finished round two with a 5-under 67. Rahm jumped to fifth as he shot 10-under through two rounds.

Sophomore Nicolo Galletti remains in the hunt tied at sixth after shooting 3-under 69 on Tuesday, combining for a 9-under 135 through 36 holes. Pepperdine’s Frederick Wedel remains in first place after shooting a 9-under 63 round two and 17-under through 36 holes.

Senior Mathias Schjoelberg, golfing as an individual, is tied for 24th at 3-under 141 (70-71) through 36 holes.

Third round action continues on Wednesday when Arizona State tees off at 8:30 a.m. HAST/11:30 a.m. MST with Georgia Tech, Mississippi, and Louisville.
