Wrestlers host intrasquad meet on Thursday
The Oregon State wrestling team will hold its annual intrasquad scrimmage at 7 p.m. Thursday at Gill Coliseum. Admission is free.
It is the final tune-up before the 20th-ranked Beavers open the season on Sunday at the Mike Clock Open at Pacific University in Forest Grove. They start the regular season on Nov. 13 with a home match against Southern Oregon. If the Beavers defeat SOU, they will become the third program in NCAA history with 1,000 dual-meet victories. It would also be the 100th dual-meet win for head coach Jim Zalesky at OSU.
The lineup for the intrasquad has not yet been determined, pending the results of preliminary matches held in practice this week.
The Beavers are the three-time defending Pacific-12 Conference champions. They return five NCAA qualifiers from last year’s title team: Seniors Taylor Meeks (184) and Joe Latham (174); junior Joey Palmer (133), and sophomores Amarveer Dhesi (heavyweight) and Joey Delgado (157).
Season and single-match tickets for the upcoming season are on sale. General admission season tickets are $36 for adults and $24 for seniors (62-over) and youth (3-18). Single-match tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for seniors/youth; all seats are general admission.
Fans can purchase tickets by calling 1-800-GOBEAVS; by visiting the ticket area on osubeavers.com, or in person at the Gill Coliseum ticket office from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Season tickets are good for the entire six-event regular-season home slate. The Beavers host Southern Oregon (Nov. 13); Arizona State (Nov. 24); Stanford (Jan. 10); Cal State-Bakersfield (Jan. 17); Cal Poly (Feb. 7) and Boise State (Feb. 8).
The Pacific-12 Conference tournament, scheduled for March 1 at Gill Coliseum, is not included in the season-ticket package. Details on ticketing for that event will be released at a later date.
