Note: With the introduction of season tickets, UCLA has delinked the sport of baseball from the 2014-15 Olympic Sports Card.

The Bruins’ schedule features 31 home games at Jackie Robinson Stadium, including match-ups with TCU, UC Irvine and Vanderbilt, who each participated in the 2014 College World Series.

UCLA opens the season with a three-game weekend series against the Hofstra Pride on Feb. 13 and will host non-conference games against Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, Gonzaga, Long Beach State, Michigan State and Pepperdine. Conference contests include Arizona, Cal, Oregon State, Utah and Washington.

The Bruins coaching staff welcomed the nation’s No. 7 ranked recruiting class (as ranked by Baseball America) to Westwood this fall and will look for those players to make an immediate impact in 2015. The freshman class features six pitchers, four infielders and two catchers.

UCLA also returns a strong group of veterans this season, including 19 players who were members of the 2013 National Championship team.

The Bruins will be anchored on the mound by pitchers David Berg and James Kaprielian among others. Berg, a senior, was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 2014 MLB Draft, but decided to return for his final season. Serving as the team’s closer, Berg posted a team-leading 1.50 ERA and 11 saves in 31 relief appearances last season. The 2013 Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year currently holds the conference and school record for most career appearances (132) along with the NCAA single-season record for saves (24). Kaprielian, a junior, is coming off a campaign where he posted a 2.29 ERA with 108 strikeouts (most in the Pac-12 Conference) in 15 starts. The Tustin, Calif. native will return as the Bruins No. 1 starter after recording a team-high seven wins last season. Kaprielian most recently spent the summer with the USA Collegiate National Team, posting a 3-1 record with a 1.07 ERA in five starts.

The UCLA bats will be led by returning juniors Trent Chatterton, Kevin Kramer and Ty Moore. Chatterton, an infielder, was the team's leading hitter in conference play in 2014, batting .327 with 13 runs and seven runs batted in. Starting all 56 games, Chatterton led the Bruins in assists with 135 and racked up 89 put outs as well. Kramer, an infielder, missed the 2014 season due to injury, but earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 Conference in 2013 after hitting .278 with 41 runs, 11 doubles, two triples, three homeruns and 42 runs batted in. The Turlock, Calif. native led the Bruins in multi-RBI games (11) and tied for the team lead in hits (68) that season. Moore, an outfielder, started all 56 games last year, hitting .294 with 28 runs, 14 doubles, three triples, two home runs and 24 runs batted in. Most recently, the Mater Dei High School alumnus played for the Chatham Anglers in the Cape Cod League this summer, earning a bid to the All-Star Game.
