Huskies Claim Two Singles Titles on Final Day of PNW Intercollegiates
KIRKLAND – Viktor Farkas and Rishabh Raman each picked up singles titles at the PNW Intercollegiates on Sunday as the University of Washington men’s tennis team wrapped up its fall schedule.
Despite losing his first set, senior Farkas bounced back and came out with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Nick Kamisar of Gonzaga. Raman’s win also took three sets as he defeated Mathier Garcia, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6.
In other action on the final day, Farkans and Wendell Watanabe fell 8-3 in the flight one doubles championship to Portland’s Reid deLaubenfels and Steffan Dierauf while Emmett Egger dropped a 6-0, 7-5 decision to top-seeded Daan Maasland of Oregon.
The Huskies return to the courts on January 10 as they host Portland State at 2 p.m. at the Nordstrom Tennis Center to kick off the spring season.
