Pac-12 volleyball continues to dominate in national poll

For the second-straight week, eight Pac-12 volleyball teams are in the top 25 of the AVCA Coaches Poll, with STANFORD and WASHINGTON still undefeated and holding down the No. 1 and 2 spots, respectively, for the third-straight polling. An impressive 10 of the 12 league teams are receiving votes in the poll ... Pac-12 teams are in the midst of a truly historic season. In addition to the poll record, the Huskies made program history after their win against OREGON, setting a school record with their 24th-straight win. Stanford is off to its best start since 1991, while UTAH posted back-to-back wins over ranked opponents for the first time since 2007 ... Five matches this week will feature two ranked opponents, as the Cardinal hits the road to face ranked opponents in No. 19 USC and No. 16 UCLA while the Huskies play No. 22 COLORADO in Boulder. No. 14 ARIZONA and No. 19 ARIZONA STATE will play host to No. 10 Oregon along with OREGON STATE ... Eight of this week’s 12 matches will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks ... In the RPI rankings, 11 of the 12 teams continue to be ranked in the top 100, led by Stanford at No. 1. Washington and Oregon also have top-10 RPI rankings with the Huskies at third and the Ducks at eighth ... Eight Pac-12 volleyball student-athletes took home Capital One ® Academic All-District VIII honors this past week, with six first-team honorees and two second-team selections ... In the national statistics, three different Pac-12 players lead the nation in four separate categories. UCLA’s Karsta Lowe is tops in the country in kills and points per set, while Stanford’s Madi Bugg leads in assists per set and Arizona’s Madi Kingdon leads in attacks per set ... Utah picked up two of the three weekly honors after its two upsets over USC and UCLA. Middle blocker Carly Trueman took home Offensive Player of the Week while outside hitter Eliza Katoa was named Freshman of the Week. Stanford’s Kyle Gilbert, who set a school record in single-match digs, was named Defensive Player of the Week.
