Doller, Stoian Earn Pac-12 Accolades
Tucson, Ariz. - The University of Arizona Wildcat soccer team had two student-athletes, senior Alexandra Doller and freshman Gabi Stoian; earn recognition from the Pac-12 Conference on Tuesday. The conference office announced the 2014 season awards as determined by a polling of the Pac-12 coaches. Stoian earned Second-Team All-Pac-12 honors and was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team while Doller earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention accolades.
On the season, Stoian has scored 13 goals for the Wildcats, the third-best total in the Pac-12. Stoian has also tallied seven assists this year, which is tied for the No. 3 mark in the conference. She has racked up 33 points for Arizona (goals are worth two, assists worth one) for an average of 1.74 points per game. Both of those marks are No. 2 in the Pac-12. Stoian’s points per game average is tied for the 26th-best mark in the NCAA.
Doller has scored six goals on the season, the second-best total on the team. She has also assisted on two goals, bringing her point total to 14, also the second-best mark on the team. She has taken 64 shots on the year, the sixth-best total in the conference on the season.
The Wildcats will face Oklahoma State on Friday for the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Stillwater, Okla.
