POINTS OF EMPHASIS
» The media’s preseason pick to win the Pac-12 regular-season title, second-ranked Arizona opens its 111th season of men’s basketball on Friday with its first-ever meeting with Mount St. Mary’s.

» The Wildcats will look to run their record to 6-0 in season openers under head coach Sean Miller; Arizona has won seven-straight season openers dating to the start of the 2007-08 season.

» UA is ranked No. 2 in both the AP and USA Today preseason polls, its highest preseason ranking since opening the 2002-03 season at No. 1 in both; the Wildcats have been ranked in 41-straight AP polls, including 21-straight weeks in the top 10 and 19-straight weeks in the top five.

» Arizona has 113 victories since the start of the 2010-11 season, the most in the Pac-12 and the 10th-best total nationally; three of the eight 25-wins seasons posted by Pac-12 teams in Sean Miller’s tenure belong to UA.

» UA is in the midst of a 21-game home winning streak, one shy of tying the fifth-longest in program history; the Wildcats lead the Pac-12 in homecourt winning percentage since 2010-11 and are 74-11 (.871) at McKale Center with Miller at the helm.

» The Wildcats have won 27-consecutive regular-season non-conference games, the longest streak in the nation; UA’s streak began with a win over Oakland on Dec. 20, 2011.

» In 2013-14, Arizona ranked fourth nationally in field goal percentage defense (38.0) and sixth nationally in scoring defense (58.6); UA also led the nation in effective defensive efficiency, allowing just 88.5 points per 100 possessions.

» UA is currently in the midst of a 45-game streak in which it has not given up more than 75 points, dating to March 2013.

» Arizona was 24-3 (.889) in 2013-14 and is 96-20 (.828) under Miller when it holds an edge in the rebound column; the Wildcats ranked ninth nationally in 2013-14 with a +7.1 average rebound margin.
