Huskies Sign Enzo Sommer for Class of 2015
SEATTLE – University of Washington men’s tennis coach Matt Anger has announced that Enzo Sommer has signed a letter of intent to attend UW starting in the fall of 2015.
“Enzo has received some very good guidance within the Swiss Tennis Federation and his game has an excellent foundation,” said head coach Matt Anger. “We think he can help right away and his game can continue to flourish in our program. Coach Russell has been fantastic working with Enzo and his family.”
Sommer is from Lausanne, Switzerland and currently trains in Biel, Switzerland. The 19-year-old has seen action in numerous international events, reaching the round of 16 in the Switzerland F1 earlier this year and has had an ATP Tour singles ranking high of 1,828. He’s also the second Swiss player that the Huskies have signed that have trained in Biel, joining Patrik Fischer, who lettered for the Dawgs from 2007-09.
