Battaglia Named Cal's Student-Athlete of the Week

BERKELEY – Rugby's Andrew Battaglia earns his first California Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor after an outstanding performance in the PAC 7s Rugby Championship Nov. 8-9.

In addition to his defense, which helped to limit opponents to 1.6 ppg over six matches, the wing had a team-high seven tries as the Golden Bears won their third straight conference title Nov. 8-9 on Witter Rugby Field. A senior who majors in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis on Engineering Management, Battaglia ended California’s fall 7s season as the team’s top try scorer, with 10.
