Cougar Soccer Places Nine on Pac-12 Academic Teams
SAN FRANCISCO – Susie White was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team, Thursday, highlighting nine Cougars earning classroom accolades.
A redshirt-sophomore defender, White owns a 3.89 GPA as an education major. It is her second Pac-12 academic award after being honorable mention last season. White’s first team selection marked the eight-straight year the Cougars placed a student-athlete on the first team, the longest active streak in the conference.
Redshirt-junior forward Beau Bremer, redshirt-senior goalkeeper Gurveen Clair, junior forward Kourtney Guetlein, senior forward Jocelyn Jeffers, sophomore midfielder Kailiana Johnson, sophomore forward Kaitlyn Johnson, senior midfielder Mesa Owsley and junior forward Cara Wegner each received honorable mention.
Jeffers (3.04 GPA, movement studies major) and Owsley (3.40, social sciences) were honorable mention for the third-straight year. Clair (3.25, sport management) also garnered her third honorable mention (2011, 2013).
Guetlein (3.57, finance) picked up a second-consecutive honorable mention and Bremer (3.13, economic sciences) received honorable mention in 2012.
Wegner (3.42, accounting), Kailiana Johnson (3.08, undeclared) and Kaitlyn Johnson (3.49, undeclared) were each in their first year of eligibility for academic awards.
