Baker Makes Pac-12 All-Academic First Team
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Sophomore Kathryn Baker has been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team, the conference office announced today.
Baker holds a 3.95 GPA as a pre-environmental engineering major, and was a constant presence for the Beavers this season, helping the team hold three shutouts. Baker has started all 40 games Oregon State has played since she joined the team in 2013, helping to lock down a solid back-four. Her 1,768 minutes led the team in 2014. The Vancouver, British Columbia, native was named a Pac-12 Honorable Mention last season, for her efforts at centerback and continued to perform at a high level this year.
Baker is joined in the conference awards by All-Academic Honorable Mentions Gwen Bieck, Annie Govig, Sabrina Santarossa and Julia Sattler. Bieck was an All-Academic Honorable Mention last season as well. She missed just two games this season, helping Baker lock down the back line. Govig started all 19 matches in 2014, providing an assist against Saint Mary’s. Santarossa made 18 starts in her junior campaign, scoring on a spot-kick against the Gaels. Sattler made five starts, recording one assist this season.
