Bears Downed By No. 19 Colorado In Three Sets
BERKELEY – Senior outside hitter Christina Higgins had 15 kills and freshman opposite hitter Antzela Dempi added eight kills and two blocks but the Cal volleyball team fell to No. 19 Colorado on Friday night, 30-28, 25-16, 25-19, at Haas Pavilion.
Sophomore libero Maddy Kerr had 15 digs and junior middle blocker Lara Vukasovic added three blocks for the Bears.
Cal (9-18, 1-16 Pac-12) led for much of the first set and had set points at 27-26 and 28-27. But the Buffs came back to close it out.
The Bears fell behind by eight points in the third set but battled back to cut it to 21-18. Cal could get no closer and the Buffaloes (18-11, 10-7) went on to the victory.
The Bears will be back in action Sunday against No. 23 Utah at 11 a.m. The match will air on the Pac-12 Networks.
