Nine Soccer Buffs Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention
SAN FRANCISCO – Nine members of the University of Colorado women’s soccer team were selected as Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention, the league office announced Friday.
In order to be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point-average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Seniors named to the team were Carly Bolyard (speech, language and hearing sciences), Darcy Jerman (marketing), Bianca Jones (finance) and Brooke Rice (management); juniors were Madison Krauser (studio arts), Olivia Pappalardo (psychology) and Heather Ward (sociology); sophomore Mikaela Kraus (sociology) and freshman Brittney Stark (integrative physiology).
Jerman has been named an honorable mention for three consecutive years, while Bolyard, Jones, Krauser, Pappalardo and Ward each earned their second of their careers. It was the first honorable mention selection for Kraus, Rice and Stark.
Colorado has placed at least eight student-athletes to conference all-academic teams for five consecutive seasons (2010-14) and at least nine players on three different occasions during that stretch.
The Buffaloes face the sixth-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Kickoff in Chapel Hill, N.C. is set for 5 p.m. MST on Friday, Nov. 21. The match will be steamed online at ESPN3.com and live stats are available on CUBuffs.com.
