No. 22 ASU Volleyball Swept By No. 5 Washington

SEATTLE—The No. 22 Arizona State volleyball team was swept by No. 5 Washington, 25-19, 25-11, 25-19, on Sunday at Alaska Airlines Arena.

With the loss, ASU falls to 18-12 overall and 8-10 in Pac-12 while the Huskies improve to 27-2, 16-2 in league competition.

Junior Macey Gardner led the Sun Devils with 11 kills, and has now moved into sole possession of No. 4 in the all-time ASU record book with 1,608 in her career. Her single-season total of 525 is also No. 4 in the ASU record book.

Fellow junior Bianca Arellano totaled 20 assists and was two digs off her 19th double double this year. Her season total of 1,262 sits at No. 7 in the single-season top-10.

In the third set, the Sun Devils used a 7-0 run helped by three blocks from sophomore Bree Bailey and junior Mercedes Binns and a service ace from junior Whitney Follette to cut the Washington lead to 22-17 before the Huskies pulled away to win the match.

Up next, the Sun Devils round out the regular-season at Wells Fargo Arena, hosting UCLA on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 4 p.m. MT, live streamed via thesundevils.com. On Friday, ASU will face a rematch with Pac-12 rival Arizona, with a 6 p.m. MT first serve on the Pac-12 Networks.
