KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The California women’s soccer team has earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award, the NSCAA announced today.
The Golden Bears are among 861 soccer teams (280 men, 581 women) who posted a collective team grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the 2013-14 academic year. Cal’s 32 players on last year’s squad combined for a 3.24 team GPA.
Cal wrapped up its 2014 season last Friday, falling to regional No. 2-seed Florida in Gainesville, Fla. in the second round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. It was the program's 11th consecutive postseason berth, adding to a successful season that saw three Bears earn all-conference selections and 10 Pac-12 All-Academic honors.
