Marshall Named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO – Mary-Kate Marshall has been named Freshman of the Week for a fourth time during the 2014 season. Marshall had a pair of double-doubles on the weekend, totaling 31 kills and 24 digs, giving her 13 double-doubles on the season.

Marshall had 12 kills and 11 digs in the 3-1 win over No. 25 USC Friday and then put down 19 kills and 13 digs against No. 17 UCLA Saturday night.

The freshman from Coppell, Texas is now tied in the Pac-12 record book the third most Freshman of the Week Awards, with Kyra Holt of Washington State also earning the award four times in 2013. Samantha Bricio earned the award five times during the 2012 season and Ebony Nwanebu holds the record with being named Freshman of the Week six times in 2013.

Marshall enters the last week of play already holding the record for the most kills and eighth most digs by a freshman in school history.

The Beavers travel to Colorado to face the No. 18 Buffaloes Wednesday before returning to Gill and facing the No. 13 Oregon Ducks.
