Paea a Wrecking Crew for Bears
Chicago Bears defensive tackle Steven Paea had a huge game on Sunday in a 21-13 win over Tampa Bay and was the top performer for Oregon State alums who played in the NFL this weekend. Here is a roundup of how all the Beavers in the NFL fared:
DEREK ANDERSON (2001-04), CAROLINA: The quarterback and the Panthers had a bye.
BRANDON BROWNER (2002-03), NEW ENGLAND: Brandon had a tackle and defended two passes in a 34-9 win over Detroit.
VICTOR BUTLER (2005-08), INDIANAPOLIS: The linebacker was released by the Colts on Nov. 18.
BRANDIN COOKS (2011-13), NEW ORLEANS: The 2013 Biletnikoff Award winner is out for the season with a broken thumb he sustained against Cincinnati on Nov. 15. He had 53 catches for 550 yards and three TDs and seven runs for 73 yards and a TD in a very productive rookie season.
SCOTT CRICHTON (2011-13), MINNESOTA: The rookie defensive end played but had no stats in a 24-21 loss to Green Bay.
JAMES DOCKERY (2007, 2009-10), CAROLINA: The cornerback and the Panthers had a bye.
DWAN EDWARDS (2000-03), CAROLINA: The veteran defensive tackle and the Panthers had a bye.
JOHNNY HEKKER (2008-11), ST. LOUIS: The punter averaged 44.4 yards on four punts, with a long of 57 yards, dropped two punts inside the 20 and had one punt that resulted in a muff in a 27-24 loss to San Diego.
STEVEN JACKSON (2001-03), ATLANTA: The NFL’s leading active rusher with 11,182 yards, Jackson gained 34 yards on 13 carries and scored on a 1-yard run, and had two receptions for 17 yards in a 26-24 loss to Cleveland.
ANDY LEVITRE (2005-08), TENNESSEE: Andy started at left guard in a 43-24 loss to Philadelphia.
KEENAN LEWIS (2005-08), NEW ORLEANS: Keenan and the Saints play Baltimore tonight on Monday Night Football.
MATT MOORE (2005-06), MIAMI: The quarterback did not play in a 39-36 loss to Denver on Sunday.
STEPHEN PAEA (2008-10), CHICAGO: The former Morris Trophy winner had three tackles, two sacks for 13 yards in losses, three quarterback hurries and forced a fumble in a 21-13 win over Tampa Bay.
JORDAN POYER (20009-12), CLEVELAND: The former All-American cornerback had one special-teams tackle in a 26-24 win over Atlanta.
MIKE REMMERS (2008-11), CAROLINA: The offensive tackle and the Panthers had a bye.
JACQUIZZ RODGERS (2008-10), ATLANTA: Quizz had three carries for 16 yards, three receptions for 11 yards and scored on an 8-yard run in a 26-24 loss to Cleveland.
MARKUS WHEATON (2009-12), PITTSBURGH: The second-year wide receiver and the Steelers had a bye.
