Stanford in the NFL - Week 12

STANFORD, Calif. - Trent Murphy had a productive homecoming to the Bay Area, totaling five tackles and one forced fumble in Washington’s 17-13 loss to San Francisco Sunday afternoon. The 2013 Stanford graduate was also on the sideline Saturday during the Cardinal’s Big Game win at California along with a number of former players.  

Murphy has forced fumbles in back-to-back games, despite suffering a partially torn PCL in his knee last week against Tampa Bay.

Josh Mauro filled up the defensive stat sheet this weekend in his first career NFL game. The rookie had a tackle for loss and knocked down a pass during Arizona’s loss against Richard Sherman and company in Seattle. Sherman had four tackles and also defended a pass in the game, as the Seahawks moved within two games of the first-place Cardinals.

Despite not throwing for 300+ yards for the first time since September 15, Andrew Luck still carried Indianapolis to a 23-3 rout of Jacksonville. The NFL’s leading passer (3,641 yards) completed 65.6 percent of his passes for 253 yards and accounted for 49 more yards on the ground. The 7-4 Colts are leading the AFC South by two games over Houston.
