UCLA, six others ranked in preseason women's gymnastics poll
The defending Pac-12 women's gymastics champion Utah Utes are back for more in 2015, but when it comes to the preseason coaches poll, the UCLA Bruins are the leaders of the pack.
The Bruins, who finished fourth at last year's Pac-12 Gymnastics Championship and return defending beam champion Samantah Pescek, rank 5th in the first GymInfo poll of the season, the highest of any conference team. In total, seven Pac-12 squads are included in the preseason poll.
Utah, who stormed to their first conference title since joining the Pac-12 last season, came in just behind UCLA as the #6 team in America.

Five others - Stanford (#10), Oregon State (#11), California (#14), Arizona (#21) and Washington (#24) - round out the Pac-12's contigent in the GymInfo poll. Arizona State received votes in the poll as well.
Florida and Oklahoma, the two teams that split the 2014 national championship, are ranked #1 and #2 respectively in the poll. Two other SEC teams - LSU and Alabama - join UCLA in the top 5.
Several Pac-12 teams have already begun their exhibition schedule in preparation for the 2014-15 season, which officially begins in early January. Women's gymnastics makes its season debut on Pac-12 Networks on Jan. 12, when #22 Kentucky visits #24 Washington and #5 UCLA visits #11 Oregon State.
