Thomas Tyner plows over Florida State safety
Tyler Hunter, meet Oregon running back Thomas Tyner.
It hasn’t been the season the sophomore back was hoping for, but he took all those frustrations with injury troubles and a drop on the depth chart by pressing the truck stick on the Florida State safety in the second quarter en route to a 23-yard gain. Tyner scored three plays later to put Oregon ahead 18-6 after the PAT (yes, the Ducks kicked an extra point this time).
Tyner finished the game with 13 carries for 124 yards and that score (plus another) to help lead Oregon to a 59-20 victory over Florida State in the Rose Bowl and a spot in the College Football Playoff against the Alabama-Ohio State winner.
