Washington's Budda Baker makes one-handed interception in Cactus Bowl

Jan 2, 2015

It took 14 games for Washington freshman safety Budda Baker to grab his first career interception, and it was one that he and Huskies fans will certainly remember for a long time.

Baker needed just one hand to run down a bomb from Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph and pull it in for the pick in the first quarter of the 2015 TicketCity Cactus Bowl Friday night in Tempe.

The Bellevue High School star made waves when he flipped from a commitment to Oregon and signed with Washington in the Class of 2014 and Baker has fulfilled Husky fans’ expectations as a true freshman, earning freshman All-American honors. However, his lack of interceptions during the regular season was a point of frustration throughout the season that Baker is assuredly happy to put to bed.
