Seventh-Ranked Bruins Tied for Ninth Regional Challenge

The seventh-ranked UCLA women's golf team was tied for ninth place after the first round of the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge Sunday at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.

The Bruins posted a team score of 297 (+13) and were tied with Alabama and top-ranked Washington. Unranked Baylor assumed the 18-hole lead with a 3-under par score of 281. Arizona State was second at 285 (+1), followed by USC at 287 (+3). Duke was fourth at 5-over 289, followed by Florida at 291 (+7).

Individually, sophomore Bronte Law was tied with four other players after firing a 3-under par 68 that featured five birdies and two bogeys. Tied for 43rd place were senior Erynne Lee and freshman Lydia Choi, who both posted scores of 76 (+5). Freshman Erin Choi posted a score of 77 (+6) and was tied for 54th, and junior Louise Ridderstrom had the drop score of 79 (+8) and was tied for 75th. Senior Brittany Mai played as an individual, and was tied for 68th after carding a 78 (+7).
