PEORIZ, Ariz. – Anica Yoo fired a 4-under 68 in the afternoon round of the Westbrook Spring Invitational on Sunday to lead the Oregon State women's golf team and tie the single-round school record.
Yoo dropped an eye-popping seven birdies in her record-tying round to go with three bogeys at the par-72, 6,269-yard Westbrook Village Golf Club. She shot a 1-over 73 in the morning round and is tied for third overall with a 3-under 141.
Yoo is only one stroke behind a pair of golfers who sit at 4 under heading into Monday's final 18 holes. She won the Rose City Collegiate last year and has played in every tournament in her four-year Oregon State career, so she has the experience for a strong finish in the final round.

As a team, the Beavers are tied for fourth place with Notre Dame and Oklahoma in the 15-team field with a 4-over 290-290-580. Tennessee (8-under 568) has built an eight-stroke lead over Oregon (3-under 573), while Illinois is third, and only a stroke ahead of the three teams tied for fourth, with a 3-over 579.
The final round of the two-day, 54-hole tournament will begin at 7:30 a.m. PT (8:30 a.m. MT) on Monday and live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
“We are proud of how the team battled to the 36th hole today,” Chergo said. “They never gave up and stayed in the moment the entire 36 holes and played with a competitive spirit. We look forward to getting another opportunity on this golf course tomorrow.”
Yoo, a senior from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, tied four players for the school record, including Lauren Sewell who shot the same score at the Westbrook Spring Invitational a year ago.
