Women's Golf Finishes Fourth at SDSU Farms Invite

Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.—The No. 22 Arizona State women's golf team finished in fourth place on Wednesday at the SDSU Farms Invitational.  The Sun Devils fell to No. 24 SDSU, 3.5-1.5, in the final round of match play at the par-72, 6,237-yard Farms Golf Club.

No. 15 Tennessee downed No. 40 Colorado in Wednesday's championship bracket, clinching the first-place finish.  The Buffaloes finished in second place, followed by SDSU and Arizona State in third and fourth, respectively.  No. 13 Oklahoma State rounded out the top-five teams, defeating No. 18 UNLV in the final round. 

ASU freshman Ashleigh Greenham recorded the squad's only win of the day.  Greenham smoked SDSU's Georgia Lacey, recording a five and three advantage.  Senior Noemi Jimenez halved her match against Mila Chaves. 

The Aztecs' Paige Spiranac, Sirene Blair, and Emma Henrikson defeated Sophia Zeeb, Monica Vaughn, and Roberta Liti, respectively. 

Overall, Arizona State carded the second-most pars (208) of the tournament behind No. 19 Pepperdine and the third-most birdies (46). 

Next up, the Sun Devils return home to host the PING/ASU Invitational, to be held Apr. 10-12.  The tournament will be played at the ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz.
