No. 2 Bruins Trample Roadrunners, 17-6, in MPSF Quarterfinals
April 24, 2015 | Women's Water Polo
Ferraro scored twice in the first period as the Bruins (22-2) built a 7-0 lead, once in the third and twice in the fourth quarter, including the Bruins' final goal with 40 seconds remaining. Junior Rachel Fattal and freshman Alexis Angermund each recorded hat tricks. Fattal also scored twice in the first quarter.
The Roadrunners (12-16) became road kill early as the Bruins scored twice within the first two minutes. So bad were things for them, that even when UCLA goalkeeper Sami Hill was called for an ejection, they still couldn't score. The Bruins led 9-2 at halftime and 12-4 at the end of the third period.
Sophomore Ashley Zwirner and junior India Forster each scored twice. Senior Emily Donohoe and sophomore Mackenzie Barr added one goal each.
Hill was credited with nine saves in two quarters of play. Junior Alex Musselman had four saves in the second half.
