Charleston White gets impressive pick at WSU spring game

The Washington State defense is hoping to create more turnovers in 2015, and sophomore cornerback Charleston White wants to again play a prominent role in dirtying opposing quarterbacks’ stats.

New defensive coordinator Alex Grinch is placing one more defensive back on the field to try to improve upon the 2014 total of three interceptions for the Cougar defense. At Saturday’s Crimson and Gray game, White kept his name in the conversation with the interception above. It looked like receiver Gabe Marks had a step, but White more than made up the distance with this lunging grab to deny Peyton Bender of a touchdown pass. White is the only returning player on the Cougars who had an interception last season.

Crimson defeated Gray 31-23. Washington State opens the 2015 campaign Sept. 5 at home against Portland State.
