'A' for effort: Oregon State's Ali Gibson throws forgettable first pitch
Ali Gibson might be able to shoot the lights out in the gym, but it was a different story on the baseball diamond Tuesday.
The Oregon State women's basketball team was honored before Tuesday evening's matchup between the Beavers and Oregon in Corvallis. Gibson, who was a senior for the Pac-12 women's hoops regular season champs this past season, took the honors for the ceremonial first pitch.

Let's just say she wasn't looking like Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Gibson. She had a mean windup and looked ready to deliver a strike, but the ball bounced well before it reached home plate.
But, hey, at least she got some consolation high fives from Ronald McDonald. And as Pac-12 Networks broadcaster Kevin Stocker noted, at least Gibson wasn't as bad as 50 Cent at the Mets game.
