Glenn And Haase Win CWGA Mashie Championship

Jun 10, 2015

PARKER - Redshirt freshman Tori Glenn and junior Megan Haase of the University of Colorado women's golf team won the Colorado Women's Golf Association Mashie Championship on Wednesday.

The three-round, four-ball match-play event was hosted at two separate courses. The opening round on Monday and championship match on Wednesday was played at the Black Bear Golf Club in Parker, Colo. and Tuesday's round was held at Heritage Eagle Bend in Aurora, Colo.

The CU duo led the final match wire-to-wire and topped defending champions Megan McCambridge and Rachel Sweeney 2 and 1 to earn the title in the amateur event.

"It was a really fun tournament," said Haase. "We worked together really well. Tori played well all three days and was very consistent. She was really helpful as a teammate and really encouraging."

Glenn and Haase advanced to the championship match after winning its quarterfinal round 5 and 3 and a close semifinal match 1 up.

"I think it really prepared us for today," Glenn said about playing in the tight match on Tuesday. "We got used to the pressure and knowing how to make clutch putts and good shots when it mattered, which really helped us."

The tournament featured eight teams and 12 flights over the three days.
