AMHERST, Mass. - A second-half goal by Lauren Becker and a balanced team effort was enough to lift No. 9 Stanford to a 1-0 victory against UMass on Sunday at Garber Field.

The Cardinal (7-3) controlled play in all areas of the game, holding advantages over the Minutewomen (5-4) in shots (17-5) and penalty corners (11-5). Becker broke the deadlock in the 45th minute when she redirected Catherine Dawson's shot into the net. It was Becker's third goal of the season and Dawson's second assist.

Becker and Maddie Secco led Stanford with 3 shots apiece and nine Cardinal registered at least a shot. Dulcie Davies faced limited pressure and did not have to make a save en route to her third shutout of the season.

Stanford returns to action next weekend when it travels to Davis, California, to take on UC Davis at 4 p.m. (PT) in an America East matchup.
