Beavers Fall To Sun Devils In Tempe

TEMPE, Ariz. – The Oregon State women's soccer team fell to Arizona State, 3-0, on Friday night at the Sun Devil Soccer Stadium.

The Beavers (6-6-3, 2-5-0 Pac-12) had six shots, with three on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net. Arizona State (6-7-1, 2-4-1) scored two goals in the first half and added another late in the second frame to claim its first Pac-12 home win of the season.

The Sun Devils scored in the 14th minute on a goal by Jessica Raybe and in the 38th minute on a shot by Larisa Staub. They added the match clincher in the 89th minute on a goal by Lucy Lara.

Sophomore goalkeeper Bella Geist had five saves for the Beavers. Freshman Rachel Jones led Oregon State with two shots, while sophomores Nikki Faris, Emma Jones and freshman Toni Malone each recorded a shot.

Oregon State returns to action at 1 p.m. on Sunday against Arizona at Mulcahy Stadium in Tucson. The Beavers hold a 10-9-1 all-time edge over the Wildcats and have won four of the last six meetings, including two of the last three in the desert.

After facing Arizona on Sunday, the Beavers return to Corvallis for their final three regular-season games.
