Pac-12 Announces Volleyball Players of the Week
SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference office announced today the Pac-12 Volleyball Players of the Week for the week of Oct. 26 - Nov. 1. UTAH’s Adora Anae was voted the Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week, WASHINGTON’s Cassie Strickland was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week and STANFORD's Halland McKenna was selected Freshman of the Week.
PAC-12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: ADORA ANAE, UTAH (SO, OH, Laie, Hawai'i)
Adora Anae led the Utes offensively to a weekend sweep of Oregon and Oregon State last week, averaging 6.00 kills on .252 hitting, 3.25 digs and 6.38 points per set. Anae tallied 20 kills, 16 digs and two blocks in Utah's 3-1 victory over Oregon. In the 3-1 win versus Oregon State, Anae broke the school’s single-match kills record during the rally-scoring era for the third time this season, posting 28 kills and chipping in 10 digs. Anae also did not have a single receiving error in 58 attempts over the weekend. She is tied for the most double-doubles in the league with 14 on the season and is ranked 25th in the country with 4.26 kills per set. It is her second-career weekly honor and the seventh all-time for Utah.

PAC-12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: CASSIE STRICKLAND, WASH (SR, L, Huntington Beach, Calif.)
Cassie Strickland helped guide No. 3 Washington to a pair of wins over then-No. 1 USC and then-No. 8 UCLA over the weekend, handing the Trojans their first loss of the season. Strickland, the reigning Pac-12 Libero of the Year, averaged 1.43 assists and 5.71 digs per set over the two matches. Strickland and the Huskies held USC to its lowest attack percentage of the year at just .147 and became the first team not to allow a service ace to the Trojans. Strickland had 17 digs in the match and added three assists as well. She then posted a season-high 23 digs in the 3-1 victory over UCLA, dishin out a career-high seven assists. It is her third-career weekly honor. Washington has earned defensive weekly honors four times this season and leads the league with 15 all-time.

PAC-12 FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: HALLAND MCKENNA, STAN (FR, L, Laguna Beach, Calif.)
Halland McKenna led Stanford defensively in a weekend sweep of then-No. 14 Arizona State and then-No. 19 Arizona. She averaged 5.43 digs and 0.86 assists per set for the two matches, 1.84 dps over her season average of 3.59. Against the Sun Devils, she tallied 11 digs and three assists in the 3-0 win, then recorded a career-high 27 digs against the Wildcats, also pitching in three assists once again. She did not record a receiving error in the 30 total attempts for the weekend. McKenna has registered double-digit digs in six-straight matches and 15 times overall this season. It is her first-career weekly honor. For the fifth time this season, Stanford has earned the freshman of the week accolade. The Cardinal now have 14 all-time freshman weekly honors, the most in the Conference.

Weekly awards have been selected every week of the season since the Conference began sponsoring women’s volleyball in 1986. It is the fifth year the Pac-12 has announced an offensive, defensive and freshman honoree. Freshman of the week honors are not included in the all-time totals for each institution.
