Stanford's McNealy Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Month
SAN FRANCISCO – Maverick McNealy of STANFORD has been named the Pac-12 Men’s Golfer of the Month for October, the Pac-12 announced today.
McNealy, a junior from Portola Valley, Calif., won his eighth collegiate tournament with a victory at the United States Collegiate Championship (The Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga.) where he fired a 6-under 210 (69-74-66). He is now third in program history to reach the eight-win mark, trailing only Patrick Rodgers and Tiger Woods who each had 11 wins during their Stanford careers.
Earlier in the month, he tied for fifth at the Nike Collegiate Golf Invitational (Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club in Portland, Ore.) with a 9-under 206 (66-72-68) to help lead the Cardinal to a tie for fourth in the team race.
Also nominated for golfer of the month honors were Jonathan Garrick, Sr., UCLA; Jonah Texeira, So., USC; Jonathan Sanders, Sr., WASHINGTON.
