Pac-12 Announces Volleyball Players of the Week
SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference office announced today the Pac-12 Volleyball Players of the Week for the week of Nov. 2-8. USC’s Samantha Bricio was voted the Conference’s Offensive Player of the Week for the sixth time this year, WASHINGTON’s Cassie Strickland was tabbed the Defensive Player of the Week for the second-straight week and UCLA's Zana Muno was selected Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.
PAC-12 OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: SAMANTHA BRICIO, USC (SR, OH, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico)
For the sixth time this season and the ninth time in her career, Samantha Bricio earned Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week accolades. Bricio is the first student-athlete in Conference history to earn six weekly honors in the same season and is tie for second all-time in Conference history for career selections with Logan Tom (Stanford, 1999-2002). For the two matches against Colorado and Utah, she averaged 6.00 kills per set on .422 hitting, 1.00 service aces per set, 2.00 digs per set and 7.36 points per set. In the 3-1 victory over the Buffs, she posted her 13th double-double of the season with 21 kills (.495 hitting) and 10 digs. She also chipped in four total blocks and six service aces. USC then swept the Utes 3-0 where Bricio again had 21 kills (.450 hitting) to go along with four digs, one block and one service ace. She leads the country in aces per set at 0.74 and points per set with 6.32. USC now has 67 all-time weekly honors.

PAC-12 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: CASSIE STRICKLAND, WASH (SR, L, Huntington Beach, Calif.)
Cassie Strickland earned defensive weekly accolades for the second-straight week. She averaged 6.33 digs, 1.17 assists and 0.83 service aces per set for the two matches helping UW defeat then-No. 20 Arizona State and then-No. 19 Arizona. In the 3-0 win at ASU, Strickland recorded three assists, two service aces and 18 digs. Strickland then had four assists, three service aces and 20 digs in the 3-0 victory over the Wildcats. It is her fourth-career weekly honor and the Huskies have earned defensive weekly honors five times this season. Washington leads the league with 16 all-time defensive honors.

PAC-12 FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK: ZANA MUNO, UCLA (FR, S, Hermosa Beach, Calif.)
Zana Muno was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. She has recorded double-doubles in six-straight matches and leads the Bruins with 11 total on the year. In the two matches versus Colorado and Utah last week, Muno averaged 12.71 assists and 4.71 digs per set. Muno had 42 assists and 14 digs in the 3-0 win over the Buffs while also pitching in two kills and a block. In the 3-1 win over the Utes, Muno dished out 47 assists and recorded 19 digs while also adding two kills, one service ace and a block. UCLA now has four all-time freshman weekly honorees.

Weekly awards have been selected every week of the season since the Conference began sponsoring women’s volleyball in 1986. It is the fifth year the Pac-12 has announced an offensive, defensive and freshman honoree. Freshman of the week honors are not included in the all-time totals for each institution.
