Former Arizona State standout Anthony Robles returns for second season as analyst
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (November 17, 2016) – Pac-12 Networks will begin its slate of wrestling matches with a Pac-12-Big Ten showdown between No. 2 Penn State and Stanford Sunday, November 22 at 1 p.m. PT. The Nittany Lions visit The Farm having won four of the last five NCAA wrestling titles.
Rich Burk, Jason Knapp, Ken Chertow, and Anthony Robles return to the broadcast booth for another season of wrestling coverage with nine regular season matches appearing on the Pac-12 Networks. The schedule includes seven matches featuring top 20 teams and will culminate with the Pac-12 Conference Championship, airing live from Arizona State’s campus on Saturday, February 27 at 5 p.m. PT.
Last season, 24 Pac-12 wrestlers earned NCAA Championship bids. Oregon State led all teams with seven contenders, while Arizona State placed six and Stanford added five. Blake Stauffer, the Pac-12 Wrestler of the Year, finished fourth in the 184 class, becoming the first All-American for the Sun Devils since 2011. Stanford’s Jim Wilson followed suit with an eighth-place finish in the 165 class. He became Stanford’s first All-American since 2012.
Oregon State seniors Alex Elder, Joe Latham and Taylor Meeks all finished one win short of placing at the National Championship meet.
