Pac-12 Networks counts down to the Pac-12 Football Championship Game, celebrates 100 years of Conference excellence this week
Classic matchups between Stanford and USC, plus the unveiling of the “Pac-12 All-Century Football Team” & “Icons of the Centennial” headline special week of programming
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (December 1, 2015) – Following an incredible season finale that secured the meeting between Stanford and USC in the 2015 Pac-12 Football Championship Game, Pac-12 Networks has a week filled with programming and content celebrating the past and present of a Conference rich in history and excellence December 1-December 6.
Tonight at 6 p.m. PT on Pac-12 Network, Inside Pac-12 Football, presented by Farmer’s Insurance unveils the Conference end of the season awards including: Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year and First Team Offensive and Defensive selections. Host Mike Yam alongside analysts Curtis Conway and Yogi Roth will also breakdown the much-anticipated College Football Playoff rankings for the week, plus the latest news and analysis leading into Saturday’s championship game.
Following Inside Pac-12 Football comes the long-awaited reveal of the Pac-12 All-Century Football Team at 9:00 p.m. PT on Pac-12 Network. Hosted by Ted Robinson, Pac-12 All-Century: Football reveals the 50 best football players in the 100-year history of the Conference to grace the gridiron. The 60-minute special unveils each player position by position, with interviews from select members of the 119-member voting panel, which was made up of former players, coaches and media.
Wednesday, December 2 officially marks the 100th anniversary of the Pac-12 Conference and the milestone will be celebrated in a 90-minute special at 3:30 p.m. PT on Pac-12 Network entitled Icons of the Centennial. Hosted by Mike Yam and Ashley Adamson, Icons pays tribute to trailblazers from each university and the effect they had in the Pac-12 and beyond. Working in conjunction with each university, Pac-12 Networks will unveil a “Mount Rushmore” of legends that includes a male athlete, female athlete, head coach and a university pioneer within the sports landscape from each of the 12 member institutions.
Starting at 7:30 a.m. PT on Championship Saturday, Pac-12 Los Angeles and Pac-12 Bay Area will feature encores of some memorable games featuring USC and Stanford on their respective network, leading straight up to kickoff.
Game coverage on Pac-12 Network, Pac-12 Los Angeles and Pac-12 Bay Area begins at 3:30 p.m. PT with the Pac-12 Football Championship Pregame Show, Presented by Geico, with Mike Yam, Curtis Conway, Nick Aliotti and Nigel Burton live from Pac-12 Networks’ San Francisco studio. The pregame show with feature:
- Live reports from Lewis Johnson and Jill Savage on the ground at Levi’s Stadium
- Interviews with select members of the Pac-12 All-Century Football team on site
- JB Long goes 1-on-1 with Stanford QB Kevin Hogan
Immediately following the game, the Pac-12 Football Championship Postgame Report, Presented by Geico will provide game analysis from the studio team, plus live postgame press conferences from players and coaches.
