Corvallis, Ore. – Seniors Jamie Weisner, Ruth Hamblin and Deven Hunter combined for 37 points and 14 rebounds on Tuesday to lead Oregon State to a 75-51 victory over Cal State-Bakersfield before a Gill Coliseum crowd of 7,824 in OSU's fifth annual Beavers Beyond the Classroom game.

"This was a great day in Gill," said Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck. "This is a day that we look forward to all year. It was loud and there was a great energy in this building. I think it took us a little while to get comfortable, but we settled in in the third quarter and that was one of our better stretches of the year so far. Overall just a great day, and a lot of good things for our players and our program today."

Weisner had 14 points and four rebounds, Hamblin had 12 points and eight rebounds and Hunter added 11 points, two rebounds, and two assists and was 2-for-2 on 3-pointers in only 11 minutes as the No. 7-ranked Beavers (8-0) improved to 32-3 at Gill Coliseum over the last two-plus seasons before the third-largest crowd in school history.

The Roadrunners (1-10) stayed in contention during the first quarter, which ended with the Beavers holding a 15-10 advantage. However, two 3-pointers by freshman guard Katie McWilliams fueled a 14-2 run in the first 4:24 of the second quarter to give the Beavers a 29-12 cushion.

CSUB never got closer than 13 points thereafter. The Beavers led 37-22 at halftime, 60-32 after three quarters and twice had a 30-point advantage in the final quarter before taking their foot off the gas.

Every Beaver scored at least three points, everyone except Hamblin had at least one assist and OSU outrebounded the Roadrunners 45-32 in their sixth win by 21 or more points in eight games.

OSU held CSUB to 27 percent shooting overall (17-61) and did not allow a 3-point basket in 11 attempts. It was the sixth time in eight games OSU has held its opponent to 51 or fewer points.

Several players also drew closer to moving up in OSU's career top-10 lists.

·        Weisner now had 1,251 points and needs 12 more to pass Ali Gibson (1,262) for eighth all-time.

·        Hamblin increased her career scoring total to 967 points. She needs 33 more to become the 20th player in school history with 1,000 or more points, an exclusive group junior guard Sydney Wiese joined this past Saturday.

·        Hunter now has 729 career rebounds; she needs 10 to pass Felicia Ragland (739) for fifth all-time. Hamblin now has 728 career rebounds and is also on the verge of passing Ragland.

·        Hamblin also went 6-for-6 from the field to improve her lifetime shooting percentage to .570 (416-735). She thus passed Jan Martin (.567) and now ranks No. 2 all-time.

The Beavers host perennial national power Tennessee at 6 p.m. Saturday in their next game. It will be televised by Pac-12 Networks and Pac-12 Oregon. Tickets for Saturday's game, and for every other home game, are available at BeaverTickets.com or by calling 800-GOBEAVS.
