Seven Baseball Players Named Louisville Slugger Preseason All-Americans

SAN FRANCISCO - Seven Pac-12 baseball players have been named to the Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America Teams, Collegiate Baseball announced Tuesday. Five athletes were named to the second team and two landed on the third team.

The second-team honorees include CALIFORNIA junior starting pitcher Daulton Jefferies was a 2015 first-team All-Pac-12 honoree. WASHINGTON STATE junior relief pitcher Ian Hamilton earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors in 2014 and 2015 and is the all-time leader in saves in Cougar history with 28. OREGON STATE sophomore first baseman KJ Harrison was named the 2015 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and was named a Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-American. ARIZONA junior third baseman Bobby Dalbec led the Pac-12 in home runs in 2015 with 15 on the season. He was a first-team All-Pac-12 honoree and was named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive team. ARIZONA STATE junior shortstop Colby Woodmansee registered 24 multi-hit games during the 2015 season and earned first-team All-Pac-12 accolades.

OREGON redshirt sophomore starting pitcher Matt Krook and STANFORD junior starting pitcher Cal Quantrill both garnered third-team recognition. Krook redshirted the 2015 season but in 2014 he was named a Louisville Slugger first-team Freshman All-American after finishing the injury-shortened season with a 2-1 record and a 1.79 ERA. Quantrill had his 2015 season cut short due to injury, but he recorded a 2-0 record with 1.93 ERA in 18.2 innings pitched.

With 28 College World Series National Titles including four of the last ten, the Pac-12 looks to continue its dominance in the ranks of collegiate baseball in 2016.
