Pac-12 Announces Wrestler of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO - The Conference office announced today that Ronnie Bresser of OREGON STATE was named the first ever Pac-12 Wrestler of the Week for competition through Dec. 28 - Jan. 3.

Bresser, a sophomore 125-pounder (Klamath Falls, Ore.) went 4-1 and took second place in one of the nation's premier events, the Ken Kraft Midlands Championships in Evanston, Ill., on Dec. 29-30. Bresser advanced to the finals by pinning Tim Lambert of Nebraska in 2:21 in the semifinal. He then faced Thomas Gilman of Iowa in the final and fell 5-1. Overall, he finished the tourney with a 4-1 record. He won two matches by major decision, another by pin and improved his record to 16-5 in leading the Beavers to a 12th-place finish in the tournament.

The Beavers will resume their dual-meet schedule on Jan. 7 against Michigan at the Joe Wells Classic in Ann Arbor, Mich.

Oregon State will look to defend its title at the 2016 Pac-12 Wrestling Championships on Feb. 27 in Tempe, Ariz.
