SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference office announced today the Pac-12 Women’s Basketball Players of the Week for the week of Feb. 15-21. For the second time in three weeks, OREGON STATE’s Jamie Weisner was voted the Pac-12 Player of the Week, while COLORADO’s Kennedy Leonard was tabbed the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week.

Senior Jamie Weisner (Clarkston, Wash.) continues to lead the Beavers as the regular season nears its conclusion. Weisner averaged 21.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game while carrying OSU to its 14th-straight win while holding on to a first-place tie in the Pac-12 standings. The Beavers opened the week with a 76-52 win over USC where Weisner tallied 18 points on 6-for-14 shooting. She followed up with a commanding performance on Senior Night, recording 25 points and grabbing a career-high 14 rebounds to help Oregon State to a 64-54 win over No. 12 UCLA. She went 7-for-16 from the floor during the game, including a 4-for-6 showing from three-point range. It is the third-career weekly honor for Weisner and the 38th all-time for Oregon State.

Guard Kennedy Leonard (Southlake, Texas) is tabbed the freshman of the week after averaging 18.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game in a week where the Buffs went 1-1, including winning their second Pac-12 game of the season, also snapping a five-game losing skid. In the 78-57 win against California, she finished with career-highs in points (23) and assists (13), field goals (9) and field goal attempts (18), registering her second points-assists double-double of her career. She became just the third player in CU history to record multiple points-assists double-doubles of her career and only the second player to earn a points-assists double-double while scoring 20+ points. Her 13 assists were more than the entire Golden Bear squad (11) and is the fourth-most all-time in team history in a single game. She also contributed 13 points in the 80-49 setback to No. 15 Stanford to open the weekend’s action. Leonard is just the second Buff to earn Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors with the only other honoree coming during the 2012-13 campaign, the first year of the Pac-12, when former Buff Arielle Roberson earned the honor five times.

A player of the week has been selected every week since 1986-87, the first year the Conference sponsored women’s sports. A freshman of the week was first selected in 2012-13. The Pac-12 Player and Freshman of the Week are voted on by a panel of media that regularly cover Pac-12 women’s basketball.

Oregon State and Colorado gear up for the final week of the regular season, with the Beavers looking to clinch the top seed in the Pac-12 Tournament in KeyArena in Seattle for the second-straight year. The Beavs will have a tough road trip to the Bay Area, taking on top-15 foe Stanford on Friday, Feb. 26 then close out the weekend at Cal on Sunday, Feb. 28. Colorado will also hit the road, traveling to face Washington State on Thursday, Feb. 25 and wrapping up the season on Saturday, Feb. 27 in Seattle against Washington.
