Arizona Athletics/Oregon Athletics

SAN FRANCISCO - The Conference office announced today that Daan Maasland of OREGON was named Pac-12 Men's Tennis Player of the Week and for the second time this season ARIZONA's Lauren Marker was voted Women's Tennis Player of the Week for action during the week of Feb. 29 - March 6.

No. 71 Maasland (Geldrop, Netherlands) won both his singles and doubles match as the Ducks won their eighth-straight match and remained undefeated at home on the year. Maasland won in straight sets over Matic Spec in singles. He then partnered with Simon Stevens to win 6-1 over Spec and Jeremy Lynn at No. 2 in doubles to clinch the first point of the match. This is Maasland's first-career weekly honor and the sixth all-time for Oregon.

Marker (Rancho Mirage, Calif.) had an impressive week in singles competition. On Friday, Marker bested No. 24 Taylor Davidson in Arizona’s 5-2 loss to Stanford. Following that performance, her close victory over California's No. 10 Maegan Manasse the following day not only prevented Arizona from being swept, but it also represents the highest ranked opponent Marker has defeated in her collegiate career. This is Marker's second weekly honor of the season and the third of her career. Arizona has garnered nine all-time weekly accolades.
