Pac-12 Networks wins at 2016 Cynopsis Sports Media Awards
Pac-12 Networks took home some hardware from the Cynopsis Sports Media Awards in New York City on Thursday morning, garnering a win in the ‘Overall Social Media’ category. Fellow nominees included Bleacher Report – Bleacher Report, CBS Sports Digital – CBS Sports, MLBAM, Optimum Sports – SAP “NBA Social”, Turner Sports – Turner Sports Social and WWE. It has been a great year for the Pac-12 Networks’ social media team.
They’ve accomplished some incredible milestones, including:
- +17% average monthly Pac-12.com visitors YoY +19% average monthly web video plays
- +120% growth in TV Everywhere viewership
- +138% average monthly Facebook and Twitter impressions
- +597% average monthly engagements including, clicks, likes and shares
Pac-12 Networks’ primary focus on social media was fan engagement through its social platforms on Twitter (@Pac12Network & @Pac12Conference), Facebook (facebook.com/Pac12Conference), Snapchat (@pac12conference) and Instagram (@pac12conference).
“Keeping our fans engaged on social has always been important, and we’re beyond thrilled to be honored with this award,” said Justin Karp, Pac-12 Networks Social Media Manager.
Through highlight videos executed during the 2015 NFL Draft, #12Best moments, and the Pac-12 Centennial Celebration, our social team conveyed the theme of exuberance. In just three days – November 30 – December 2 – leading up to the Pac-12 Conference’s 100th birthday, Pac-12 Networks’ social push resulted in 20.4 million impressions.
“Our team makes social engagement our top priority every day, and to be recognized with this award for getting to do something this fun is incredible,” said Karp.
This is the fourth Cynopsis Award won by Pac-12 Networks, joining the ‘Best Use of Integrated Sponsorship for Broadcast’ for Pac-12 Networks’ Chevron ‘Human Energy Stories’ campaign in 2015, ‘Most Innovative Use of Twitter’ in 2014, and ‘Digital Executive of the Year for David Aufhauser in 2013.
