California

Former Cal soccer players David Bingham and Steve Birnbaum were selected to the MLS All-Star team, along with Stanford’s Brandon Vincent. The MLS All-Stars will play Arsenal July 28 at Avaya Stadium in San Jose.

Washington

Jacob Thorpe pens a piece about how Chris Petersen and Washington are dealing with the big expectations of the team in 2016.

Utah

Kurt Kragthorpe is of the belief that Utah football needs some “Hollywood glitz” in its offense. Yeah, the Utes are good in the trenches, but a little flash wouldn’t hurt these guys.

Oregon State

Kragthorpe also writes about how Oregon State head coach Gary Andersen is drawing from his experience at Utah State. He took a team that went 3-9 at Utah State and turned the Aggies into an 11-2 squad by his fourth season.

Colorado

Brian Howell believes that Colorado has a leg up on the Pac-12 since it already has a starting quarterback nailed down. Sefo Liufau is one of five guys in the Pac-12 who have been named a starter at that position (Josh Rosen, Jake Browning, Luke Falk and Darell Garretson).

Oregon

Mark Helfrich discusses the Oregon quarterback situation in this Chantel Jennings link. Dakota Prukop appears to be the front runner, with Travis Jonsen and Terry Wilson giving chase.

Stanford

Drawing on a recent USA TODAY report, David Lombardi writes that David Shaw’s salary increase is an indication of the success of Stanford football over the past few years.

Arizona State

USC

UCLA

Thiry also tells us that UCLA offensive lineman Conor McDermott wants more than a 10-win season in 2016.

Washington State

From last week – Jacob Thorpe tells us that Washington State football has more to prove in 2016. The Cougars were picked to finish fourth in the Pac-12 North last week.
